First of all, We would like to thank everyone who support us and even those who don’t. It has been quite a journey till now, we did face many obstacles but it was only our passion and zeal to bring something which can be helpful to each and every drummer, either pro or beginner.
I am Pawan Gujral, Founder for this website called INDIAN DRUMMER, to be frank I am little shy and never portray as a founder. I always feel as initiator of this drumming platform, I should be badass on drums, which I don’t think I’m . Also I know who I’m & what I believe & that’s all I need to know. I always feel as the initiator of this drumming platform, I want to represent possibilities, I want to represent the idea that I really can make what I want! I can create whatever I want to create.
We have completed 1 year of this journey and I would love to share my thoughts, chops with you. We are not here to raise any particular music or genre, there are so many other platforms doing the cat-walk. We want every drummer to consider this web space his personal notebook, a notebook to contribute and revisit to learn from other’s contribution, a notebook as personal database & profile, and a notebook where we can put lessons, articles and interact with different drummers, a notebook where we add, ask, write and update things every day. If every drummer looks at it this way and just adds whatever he feels is right, it will make this notebook India’s first drumming platform for all. We going to lay this brick, as perfectly as a brick can be laid.
We haven’t even achieved 1% of the goal we had set. But we promise we are working day in day outto take it to next level.
Team ID is proud to showcase its achievements of this rock and rolling first year:
1) Featured on Sunday Guardian Newspaper.
2) Collaboration with DRUM! Magazine, USA.
3) Joining the league of best drumming website across the world through EMN.
4) Starting first Indian Drummer Database, Drummer’s Den.
5) Doing first live interview with Opeth’s Drummer Martin Axerot.
6) Growth of 140% in our website visitors overlast year.
& So On…
Few Milestones down and a Legacy still in the making
We won’t be able to make it big, unless you combine your dreams with our dreams. Thanks and congratulations to Team ID, AsheemSher, Ryan Colaco, Shinjini Barik, Sumanth Venkatesan, Ravnit Kang , Sushant Abraham & here are few words by our well-wishers.
In my search for the perfect research portal on drumming, I stumbled upon Indiandrummer in 2011. The guys at ID have been on their toes every day working on the website and bringing the drumming community together to create a congregation of musicians and hobbyists alike to exchange ideas and impart knowledge.
I have been lucky to be interviewed by them and must I admit, I am proud to be associated with Indiandrummer. Kudos to Pawan, Asheem and the team. Happy Birthday ID.
- Aadhar Malhotra , Drummer for Delhi Based Metal Band Artillerie
I didn’t know about ID for a while; I sort of Googled some stuff and totally chanced upon it.
Not only was I surprised at the extensive database of the site, I was very happy to find a serious underline of focus regarding the art of drumming in here. Lessons, interviews, videos, and outsourced material was very well laid out; I even visited the forum once and chanced upon a post from an old acquaintance/overseas colleague and known writer from DRUM!
There are some really cool interviews in here and with a very balanced approach at that. Iki Levy isn’t a guy everyone gets to interview.
My profile was soon included and I was very impressed with the way the songs streamed. Good shiznit, this, Pawan & Team!
Happy to be here,
The pocket’s where its really at….
- Arka Das , Drummer for Kolkata based Band Ganesh Talkies, Five Little Indians,

The indian drumming community is growing and getting stronger every year … indiandrummer.com is going to play a big role in showcasing India’s talented drummers to the rest of the world… Congratulations to indiandrummer.com for completing 1 year… and to many more to come!!
- Gino Banks , One of the finest Drummer in India
First of all, congrats to your entire team on completing one year in the business. And what makes it special is, it happens to be my birthday too tomorrow. So in a way, me and Indian Drummer were destined to meet each other some day I guess!
I remember coming across your website on FB thru some other drummer’s interview which he had put on his profile. The first thing that came to my mind at that time was …’get in touch with them and get registered’. It immediately struck a chord with me. There is no doubt that drummers in general don’t get the recognition they deserve, especially Indian drummers. With Indian Drummer, i see a lotta talent will be rightfully recognised all over the world. I’m not an expert at marketing, but a little more presence at rock shows in and around the city, doing some kinda tie-up with drummers from diff. bands, merchandising…making caps, tees etc and making all your registered drummers wear it for every gig….stuff like that will go a long way.
I’ve had a great time with you guys so far. Keep up the good work….and keep it real!! Adios!
- Aniket Waghmode , Drummer for Mumbai based Metal Band Sceptre
Cheers & Happy Drumming. \m/
